The way it recreated a pre-2000 AOL-style internet is fantastic. There's so much story and thought and love put into it and it makes me so happy. It's so accurate down to the crappy 3D animation, eye-bleeding page designs, and clueless old people.Pick up this game. There are no problems I can state. $22 CAD? Get outta here! Or more. A lot more. Or maybe a flamethrower. Or a nuke.Buy. This. Game.. I'm kinda shocked at just how good this game turned out. I think like most people who stumbled upon this game, it was the aesthetic, and a bit of nostalgia for that time frame of the internet that lead me to pick it up. But once I got into it, I realized that I was exploring it and the interface like I used to back in the day, and for the same reasons. A lot of what was fun about going through old Geocities accounts (which this clearly is a reference too) was seeing the small little interpersonal dramas, seeing people update personal projects and explore this new and exciting space. And yeah, all that is here. You see people put up their own art and music and writing and as you interact with the world it slowly interacts back with you.Add on a legitimately good overarching storyline, and it's just a fun exploration through this old world. My only real complaint is that it does occasionally have a bit of old lucasarts point and click syndrome, where you have a good feeling you know what the answer to a particular puzzle is, but you just can't find out how to act upon it. It's thankfully VERY rare, and there is both a good in game hint system (just search hints!) as well as the obvious guides that you can look up (some are even nice enough to just provide hints themselves) online should it come to that. Other than that, a fantastic game.. hypnospace is coolhypnospace is superplease dont use your toolon my music or my gooper. I've wanted to reach web 1.0 experience once again for many, many years now. This title - is my long awaited satisfaction. It is not one of those empty "old windows simulation" with bunch of lonely demoscene graphics. This piece of art is actually letting you experience the Internet like it's 1999 again.I don't know how exactly you've achieved such strong level of emphaty for each Hypnospace page owner. Somehow, you've achieved vibes of any type of users: middle-age casual ones, content creators, teenagers, self-proudly indie devs, underground hacker scene, so much others.OST is stuck in my head now. Also thanks for introducing "castles in limbo.mod" to me, it was used at such appropriate moment.Never expected anyone, any gamedev to recreate this feeling, as I've always thought this 90's web 1.0 nostalgia thing is something very small niche and specific, means not widely expected or commercially successful. All people who created this masterpiece: We Salute You!You've made something really lifetime valuable for many people like me, who witnessed the early internet era.. coolpunk is dead and capitalism killed it
